www.plus613.com broke one million image views! This has been a bit under 7
months in the making from a completely virgin website with absolutely no
content, yet 3/4 of those million views have occured within the past 2 months
and 10 days. If we can sustain this rate of increase, we will hit 5,000,000
views before the year is out.
Some new statistics that shape this website:
Current highest number of unique visitors in one day: 2782
Most bandwidth used in one day: 2.2 gigabytes (that's approximately 1,527
3.5" floppy disks, which if stacked one on top of the other would reach
nearly four meters (roughly 13 feet) in height!)
Statistical busiest day of the week: Tuesdays, with an average of 15,948 page
views.
Statistical busiest hour: 16:00 US Central time.
Average number of visits, per visitor, per month: 1.4+
Estimated number of people who add www.plus613.com to favorites: Over 50%

Means we're heading to 200 million, will easily do it before the year is
out.
The stats above, and in the 250k image, were before the sites were split. The
view counter itself is accurate to +/- ~100k views at a guess. This is because I
don't think deleted images show up in that tally after they're removed. It's
pretty accurate though.
Facebook and the like took a pretty serious toll on sites like these. Also,
losing our listing in DMOZ because of the domain name shit really hurt us. We
used to have 1000+ online at all times, now it's usually around 200 and half of
them are bots.
Now even if we could get back on DMOZ it wouldn't help because nobody uses it
anymore. It was great because there used to be 10s of thousands of DMOZ mirrors
out there, and Google used to page rank by the number of links to a site.. thus,
we had 10s of thousands of links to plus613.com which we lost when DMOZ binned
us because the site was 'down'. *sigh*
If the demand/load had've kept up we'd probably have spent a lot more time
updating/maintaining the site and it'd be something really special. Ho hum

Lost some cool users along the way. Disappointing really in a lot of ways. You
can clearly see how much things have slowed down when we took 2 years to get 1/3
of the way to that tally and it's been 10 years since then. As I said above
Facebook et al, social media in general have just destroyed sites like
these.
Just ask Yahoo. Or Lycos. Or Altavista what happens when they don't keep up with
the shiny new.
Edit: That said it's still nearly 20M porn and 5M plus views in a year. It's not
as bad as it seems sometimes.

At time of writing, 100,010,634.
porn613 is 252,543,047 - so over a quarter billion on its own.
Over 350 million images from the tiny little websites started by a couple of
guys who were bored one day.
Shame it's no imgur or reddit but meh whatever, who needs millions when you can
pay for it all by yourself?

Yup looks like it. I don't think you could pop tabs out in those days, and
those were pages I couldn't lose! I can see the consulate details I had to
contact for the visa, I don't know why I bothered searching for hotels in Kiev
as there was like 2 that westerners were permitted to stay at back then.

I missed the big 350 date, but 351 million now.
edit; so that's basically 50 million each 9 months for the past 100 million.
I don't have any hard stats, but I do wonder if the AI auto-tagging and AI text
descriptions have helped the search engines direct views? That was a primary
reason I did it; search engines have never liked the site because there was a
picture and a title, so it found it hard to index.
I've also fixed a number of indexing issues, as well as hard enforcing using
plus613.net instead of plus613.com/plus613.net interchangeably, which I think
will also help with crawling the sites and not getting a heap of duplicate
indexing.

I still like messing about with it. It'd be nice if we had the same level of..
commitment that we had with early users but it's a niche and it does it's thing
with very little effort. And all my changes have made hosting easier than ever.
I don't give a shit about politics, but playing with back end stuff is still
fun.
It takes 16 minutes to backup all of plus613. That feels slow across 10Gb. It's
not 1TB of data..

leave. So that's the full randoms. Then obviously a few click through maybe half
a dozen and leave etc
I don't have any meaningful numbers anymore. And most of the regulars are gone
but oh well. I'm guessing people like jgoins or Lando have probably died,
heavily active every single day for years and years then vanish and never come
back, not even once. Can't believe they don't let me know if they're dead.
There's a number of people who seem to appear, upload a bunch of stuff then

Yeah, plp is/was a pilot with some personal issues. I was in contact with him
through facebook for a while and tried to be a sympathetic ear, but he was a
constant Debbie downer while I was dealing with a suicidal immediate family
member and had to get away from him or lose my own mind. The last I heard from
