One of my personal heroes and the one reason I got into aviation in the first place. As a kid, I was fascinated by the X-15 rocket plane and the high speed, subspace test flights flown by this man. Perhaps it is fitting that he died doing what he enjoyed so much, still flying at age 84.

Agreed and ditto. The story of his passing was mixed sad for me too... may we all go doing something we love that much.
