Yes, it's a railway snowblower. The big blade spins around and throws the snow off the tracks, and it's quite spectacular to see. It will easily go through six feet of snow. Of course, the freshly-plowed tracks instantly become moose-magnets, so the trains that come along afterwords pretty much slay them. There's one on static display at a rest area south of town, but I've never stopped to really look at it. If I could see a little more of the surroundings I could tell if this is the same one.
