This reminded me of one of the best experiences I've had while paddling my canoe or kayak. I was on a stretch of water around 150 meters wide through some mangrove trees when I encountered a murmuration. It was three or four times the size of the one in this video, began in front of me and meandered toward me until it was all around above me. I was gobsmacked, mesmerized, and extremely lucky I wasn't covered in bird shit as it went on for several minutes.
