It's a representation of the 3 body problem. Which is the gravitational effects of .. 3 bodies interacting with each other.

I thought the three body problem was when you and the old lady have the first kid. Suddenly everything revolves around the smallest body.

3 body problem

Now I get it. I would have found it fascinating once, but now I don't bother much with theoretical maths/physics problems if I'm not directly concerned in some way. I'll read an article where the work's been done by someone else. I must be getting old. Really, there's about 80 pages neatly sitting on my desk, not even technical speak, that I haven't read. I would have once vacuumed it up in an afternoon. It's been there for months.
