Melbourne just had the warmest winter since records began in 1865.
Europe had their hottest, driest summer ever, with bushfires the likes Australia and California experience.
Of course, building a village in the middle of a canyon is probably not the best idea.
But it's probably been there since Jesus was doing magic tricks..

Back in the day towns were built near a water supply, often rivers in valley's that sometimes flood. That's usually where more fertile ground is found for growing crops. It's not foolishness, it's taking care of life's necessities, food and water. In many places, before there were roads and railroads rivers were used for transportation and still are. Yeah, those people that settled there 1000 years ago or whenever should have known climate change would weaken that glacier. Morons.

I moved to Florida in 1980 because my dad was getting older here. The last time a hurricane had been in the area was 1960, not long after I was born. We weren't hit again until 2004. Then 2017. Then 2022. Then flooded by two near misses within weeks in 2024. Seems like a pattern. Why did anyone build a town here on a harbor at the mouth of a river at sea level in the 1880's before roads or railroads reached here? Idiots.

The point is that things like this that only rarely happened or had never happened before will now be occurring and we'll have photographic records like never before.
